How to lookup Cummins Fault code using Cummins Insite?

1). Select Fault Trees Index… on the Help menu to open the INSITE Fault Information System. The Fault Information System is a manual that displays comprehensive diagnostic and troubleshooting information about ECM faults.

2). Select an engine program from the content list on the left. Click on the “+” signs as needed to view each engine program’s Fault Information System.

3). Select Diagnostic Method – Troubleshooting Fault Codes, then select a specific fault code to view diagnostic and troubleshooting information.

Overview

Displays the fault code, the cause of the fault, and the effect of the fault. This gives you a general understanding of what caused the fault and which fault to work on first. It also may contain the standard repair time (SRT) code for estimating the repair time and provide the circuit diagrams/schematics for each component in the system.

Circuit Description

Displays a specific circuit wiring diagram for the component that is related to this fault

Component Location

Displays a diagram that shows the physical location of the part that is related to this fault.

Shop Talk

Displays added background information about the fault and helpful troubleshooting tips.

4). Select Diagnostic Method – Troubleshooting Symptoms to diagnose and troubleshoot a fault based solely on observation. A list of common symptoms is displayed that are related to that engine, along with a description of what caused the symptom and possible corrective actions. It also provides Troubleshooting Steps and Guided Steps using Cummins INSITE.
