Figure 1.1 – Cold idle warm-up
The cold idle warm-up feature increases the engine’s idle speed to reduce warm-up time in cold climates. When the engine starts, if the coolant temperature is below the active coolant temperature threshold, the idle speed increases to a predefined reference speed. The engine will maintain this reference speed for a maximum time limit. If the coolant temperature reaches the inactive coolant temperature before the time limit expires, the engine returns to its normal low idle speed.

Features and parameters
Figure 1.3 – Cold idle warm-up extended
Cold idle warm-up – When enabled, this feature increases the low idle speed to reduce engine warm-up time.
Active coolant temperature – Defines the coolant temperature (°F) at which cold idle warm-up activates.
Inactive coolant temperature – Defines the coolant temperature (°F) at which cold idle warm-up deactivates, returning the engine to low idle speed.
Reference speed – Sets the engine speed (RPM) reached when cold idle warm-up is active.
Time limit – Specifies the maximum duration (MM:SS) the engine remains at the reference speed during cold idle warm-up.
Cold idle warm-up extended – When enabled, provides additional parameters to expand the activation range of cold idle warm-up.
Extended active coolant temperature – Defines an extended threshold for coolant temperature (°F) below which cold idle warm-up remains active.
Extended inactive coolant temperature – Defines an extended threshold for coolant temperature (°F) above which cold idle warm-up becomes inactive.
Extended reference speed – Sets the idle engine speed (RPM) when cold idle warm-up extended is active.
Interaction with other features and parameters
Cold idle warm-up activates only after the engine warm-up protection status is inactive.
